MDHA is now accepting nominations for the “2009 Outstanding Dental Hygienist Award!”
This award honors a Missouri Dental Hygienist who has demonstrated outstanding service to MDHA and achievement in the profession of dental hygiene. Qualifications: Must be a member of MDHA.
Each candidate will be evaluated based on the following:
1. Number of years of active dental hygiene employment;
2. Community/Professional involvement; local, state, national – in dentistry, civic, church, other;
3. Current or past service to MDHA – board or committee member, chair, other support or service;
4. Nominee may not have received this award from MDHA in prior years.
Please submit in writing, one page maximum, the reasons why you believe your nominee is deserving of these prestigious awards. The deadline is August 15th, 2009. Please submit your name and address and the name and address of the nominee to Lisa Hunter, RDH, 2014 W. Williamsburg St., Springfield, MO 65810 or electronically to glhunter4@sbcglobal.net . This award honors a Missouri Dental Hygiene educator who has had a positive impact on MDHA and students through exemplary teaching and has enthusiasm for the profession by advancing the art and science of dental hygiene. Criteria:
1. Must be an educator in a Missouri Dental Hygiene program, full or part-time for at least 5 years;
2. Current member of MDHA;
3. Current or past service to MDHA - board or committee member, chair, other support or service;
4. Serves as a role model and mentor for dental hygiene students
5. Demonstrates a commitment to life-long learning
6. Demonstrates creativity, innovation, and enthusiasm in the delivery of education to students
